True story:

In addition to netting me 57 paying members…

My recent community launch also generated 17 new leads for 1-on-1 coaching.

All thanks to a simple “yes or no” question on the onboarding form.

As you can see…

37% of respondents answered yes:

Frankly, this was a surprise.

I expected the number to be much lower.

Mostly because I haven’t promoted my 1-on-1 coaching very much.

Nevertheless:

My first instinct was to think about how many new clients I could afford to take on.

The allure of more money is always hard for me to resist.

But then I sat with that for a minute…

And asked myself:

Does this align with what I want out of life and business right now?

The answer that came back was ‘no.’

It’s the middle of the summer.

Toronto is incredible this time of year…

So I’m trying to spend as much time as I can being out and about and enjoying the city.

Plus I’m going to Spain for two weeks in September.

Taking on a bunch of new 1-on-1 clients would all but guarantee that I spend the weeks leading it up to scrambling and working my ass off…

Which is a mistake I swore I wasn’t going to make with this trip…

As it’s one I’ve made many times before.

So I’ve decided to take a little sabbatical and hold off enrolling any new clients until after I get back from my trip.

Moral of the story:

Your values don’t just inform what you should say ‘yes’ to…

They also inform what you should say ‘no’ to.

What’s more:

There's a big difference between having a business that requires YOU to show up for every dollar…

And having one that can make sales whether you're sitting at your desk… 

Or sipping ice cold rosé on a beach in Mallorca.
