early ideation

True story:
I tend to write my daily newsletter one day at a time.
It’s usually one of the first things I tackle on my to-do list…
Only takes me 15 to 30 minutes…
And ensures my content stays fresh.
But when it comes to writing launch sequences…
Like the one I just wrapped up for the Newsletter Freedom community, as an example…
Then I like to do the opposite:
I batch all of the emails in advance.
Partly so I’m free to respond to people and handle any issues that may come up…
But also because all of my launches have an overarching strategy to them.
Something I may elaborate on in future emails.
However:
This creates a new problem.
Because if you want to write 8-10 emails in advance…
Then you need 8-10 email ideas.
And personally, I don’t recommend trying to come up with that many email ideas in one sitting unless you’ve got a gun to your head.
So… what’s the answer?
Early ideation.
In other words:
Slowly gathering email ideas in the days and weeks leading up to your launch.
For each email, aim to come up with:
- A story
- A subject line
This way, when the time comes to write the emails…
You already know what you’re gonna talk about in every single one…
And how each one plugs into the offer you’re promoting.
Which lightens the load in a big way.
As I wrote in my book…
The secret to writing fast is knowing what you’re going to write about BEFORE you sit down to write.
Especially if you’ve gotta crank out a batch of emails in one sitting.
Anyway, hopefully that makes sense.
That’s all I got for ya today :)
