how to “back into” flow state writing

Confession:

After hosting the Tiny Visual Book Funnel workshop last week, then going away for a short vacation, I've been struggling to get back in gear this week.

Ideas aren't flowing like they used to.

And putting words on the page feels downright painful.

Now, there's never a convenient time for this…

But I'm working on a sales page for a new offer.

Which demands a little more creative juice than a simple email like this one.

So, what did I do?

I started with the money-back guarantee.

Then moved to the FAQ.

Then moved to the order form.

And as I began to bang out some of these boilerplate sections of copy…

I started to pick up steam.

More words on the page creates momentum.

In the end, I was able to get a good chunk of the page done in my first writing session yesterday.

Moral of the story:

You don't have to write from top to bottom.

This applies to ANY type of writing project you're working on…

Whether it's emails, sales pages, blog posts, course content, or anything else.

If you're stuck on the "important" or creative sections…

Start with the easier and more mechanical parts instead.

Building momentum with smaller wins often unlocks the harder creative work.

Sometimes the pressure of starting with the "main event" creates unnecessary friction.

By giving yourself permission to work out of order, you can often find your flow again.

So next time you're staring at that blinking cursor…

Don't force yourself to start at the beginning.

Pick the easiest section and knock it out first.
