workshop launch post-mortem


In case you missed it:
My new Tiny Visual Book Funnel workshop went down yesterday.
As an introvert, I may never energetically recover from talking for 2 hours straight lol
But overall, I’m quite pleased with how it went.
A bunch of people showed up live, which was really cool.
And most of them seemed to dig it:




It’s fun to put faces to names and get to know your audience better.
Big shout out to everyone who grabbed a ticket 🙌
Anyway, as always, I like to do a little “launch post-mortem” afterward…
To extract as many insights as possible to carry forward into the next one.
Some of which I want to share with you today.
So, without further ado…
Here are 3 of my top takeaways:

1) More emails = more sales
For this launch…
I sent a total of 15 emails over 8 days.
Which is a heckuva lot more than I usually do.
Yet this reaffirmed something I’ve seen many times before…
Which is that the more emails you send, the more sales you make.
Plain and simple.
Sales volume went up hand-in-hand with send volume.
I won’t be mailing this much for the next couple of launches I have planned…
But it was nice to see a stronger push lead to more sales.
2) My Story Bank came in clutch
There’s no way I could’ve pumped out that many emails without my Story Bank.
But because I spend 15-20 minutes banking new stories every Friday…
(as explained in my book)
I built up a huge backlog of ideas for the launch.
And was able to come at the offer from a ton of different angles.
Which leads me to…
3) Unsubscribes were much lower than expected
Given the blatant email barrage I uncorked for this launch…
I expected to see a big uptick in unsubscribes.
Yet it never materialized.
If anything, unsubscribes were actually BELOW average.
Now, I have a few theories on why…
But the leading one is that (almost) every email had its own story or point to make.
And so long as you have a legit reason to show up in the inbox…
Subscribers will tolerate many more emails than you may think.

3 top takeaways from my most recent launch.
I’m heading up to wine country with family for the next few days…
Yet while I’ll be busy sipping rosé and crushing everyone at Codenames…
